Is The Congress High Command Upset With This Former CM?

Update: 2020-01-17 05:53 GMT
Till recently, he was the tallest leader of the Congress Party in Karnataka. For five years, he was the CM and towered over all other leaders in the state. But, he is now being seen as a divisive leader who is promoting groupism in the party. Yes. We are talking about Karnataka former CM Siddaramaiah. Sonia Gandhi is now veering round to the opinion that he is primarily responsible for the intense groupism in the party and is said to be very upset with him.

Now sources in the Congress  claim that Sonia Gandhi wants to clean the Congress Party in Karnataka and as part of the efforts, she wants to make party's moneybag and ace troubleshooter DK Sivakumara the PCC chief. DK's appointment would mean the end of the road for Siddaramaiah. So, he has become alert and is said to be trying every trick in the trade to prevent DK.  He is demanding that the PCC chief post be given to his protégé and Lingayat leader MB Patil. He is arguing that instead of Vokkaliga leader, the reins of PCC should be given to a lingayat to that he can take on Yediyurappa, who too is a Lingayat.

Meanwhile, Sonia Gandhi is also upset at Dinesh Gundu Rao, the former PCC chief, under whose leadership, the party lost as many as 14 MLA seats in the recent bypolls.  Sonia feels that even Dinesh Gundu Rao is a Siddharamaiah man and has allowed himself to be operated by Siddhu. So, she is said to be veering towards DK Sivakumara, who stood by the party through the thick and thin.
