Putting a full stop to the long wait, the Election Commission of India released the election notification for the much-awaited Munugode by-poll. The by-poll will be held on November 3rd. All three major parties in the state are confident of winning the polls. Only time can say who will win the polls.
But the ruling TRS is seeing the release of the by-poll notification as the fear of the BJP with KCR's national politics. Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy said that BJP is fearing KCR's entry into national politics and that's why the notification was issued in a hurry.
Though the TRS is saying that BJP is scared of KCR's entry, a few experts say that the party is being overconfident in national politics. The party is yet to be announced and there is no clarity if he launches the party except for the reports on him announcing the national party.
KCR might be a big name in Telangana. But no one can assure whether he can shine in national politics or not. Moreover, he wants to lock horns with the BJP. More than his personal image and mileage, he wants to bank on the criticism faced by the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Before the 2018 polls too, BJP was under severe criticism. But that did not impact the BJP's winning chances and the party won even more seats than in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. So it is hypothetical to think that the criticism would work against BJP. If the sentiment can't work then the chances of KCR making it big are less.
