Politics for him is family business. Telangana Minister Malla Reddy, who is incharge of the TRS party in Medchal Malkajgiri, has literally turned the party into a family affair. The way he is bringing in his family members and giving them with key party posts has raised hackles in the party.
During the parliament elections in 2019, he got the ticket for his son-in-law Marri Rajasekhara Reddy. It is another matter that Reddy lost the election to swashbuckling Revanth Reddy in Malkajgiri. Later, he brought his elder son Mahendra Reddy. If sources are to be believed, he is trying to get him a nominated post. Another son Bhadra Reddy, who is currently taking care of Malla Reddy's Medical College, too has entered politics.
Ground is being prepared to bring Malla Reddy's daughter Mamatha Reddy too into politics. His close relative Srinivas Reddy is already playing an active role in the Medchal Malkajgiri TRS. Srinivas Reddy's wife Lakshmi is currently the chairperson of Gundlapochampalli municipality.
Several TRS leaders are unhappy with Malla Reddy turning the party into a family business. But, he is so powerful that many feel that there is no use complaining. Malla Reddy has KCR's blessing and there is little that one can do, say his detractors.
