Jagan's First Test: Will he Hit a Six On TTD Pitch?

Update: 2019-05-28 16:49 GMT
The TDP, it appears, is all set to torment and trouble the new YSRCP Government with non-issues. The case in point is the ruckus raised at the TTD board meeting of Tuesday. The first meeting after the TDP was badly mauled at the elections was anything but peaceful. It appeared that the current board, appointed by the Chandrababu-led TDP regime, was determined to create a hullabaloo. The board members heaped invectives on the TTD officials, forcing them to leave the meeting venue in protest. EO Anil Singhal and JEO Srinivasa Rao left in a huff. Later, they came back only to hear more invectives.  The officials again left the venue forcing the meeting to be closed midway .

Even as there was pandemonium,  board member Challa Babu has submitted his resignation. Singhal then suggested that it is the norm that whenever there is a regime change, the members of the boards appointed by the outgoing regime have to resign on their own on moral grounds. But, TTD chairperson Putta Sudhakar Yadav challenged this and said that if the government wants, it can dismiss the board.

It is clear that the current TTD board, which has political appointees, are determined to create a scene. The precedent of 2014 shows that when the regime changes, the board chairperson and his team put in their papers. Kanumuri Bapiraju did this after Kiran Kumar Reddy took over from Rosaiah.  Let's see how Jagan deals with this issue. It will also be his baptism by fire. Let's see if Jagan can score a six on TTD's sticky wicket.
