TRS MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha met Ramdev Baba to seek his intervention for setting up a Turmeric Board in Telangana. She sought the Yoga Guru to send a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi  for establishment of the Turmeric Board as early as possible in the best interest of the farmers.

The Nizamabad MP urged Ramdev Baba to recommend Minimum Support Price (MSP) to the Turmeric Crop. She claims to have already met PM Narendra Modi, Maharashtra CM and Kerala CM over the issue.

In the letter offered to Yoga Guru, Kavitha mentioned India contributes 80 percent of Turmeric production in the World and the crop is being cultivated in 1.5 lakh hectares. He reminds Telangana alone covers 40 percent of the mentioned area and accounts 63 percent of the total production. She even claims Nizamabad have one of the largest trading centers in the country.

Finally, The TRS MPA explains setting up a separate board for Turmeric crop will certainly improve its prospects. She offers necessary support from State Government if Baba Ramdev sets up a plant in Nizamabad for turmeric production.
