Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is leaving no stone unturned to make his A Counterpart Chandrababu Naidu cope with sleepless nights. TRS is all set to ruin the plans of TDP to win at least one seat in the upcoming legislative council poll.
The election for Telangana legislative council is slated to happen on June 1st. Only 6 members could be elected to the Council as its an 119-member Assembly. Each Candidate needs the support of 18 MLAs to emerge victorious.
TRS with a strength of 75 MLAs is all set to win 4 seats and Congress, on the other hand, will bag 1 seat with its 18 MLAs. There is a tug of war between TRS and TDP for the 6th seat.
Even though TDP won 15 Assembly segments in 2014 Polls, Four of them have already shifted their loyalties to TRS bringing its strength down to 11 seats. It now wants the support to BJP (5 MLAs) and one each in CPI & CPM to win the seat.
Meanwhile, TRS is confident of disappointing TDP. After winning the 4 seats, TRS will have an excess of 3 seats and it will have the support of MIM (7 MLAs). The Ruling Party also appealed CPI, CPM & YSRC to make each of their MLAs vote for it. Still, TRS require 5 more MLAs even if all these equations work in their favour. TRS Leaders are hopeful that a lot of TDP MLAs who are keen on joining the ruling party would cross vote for its candidate.
