Maharashtra Don't Need Khichidi Govt: CM

Update: 2019-11-23 07:45 GMT
Once again Devendra Fadnavis was sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. NCP's Ajit Pawar will act as his Deputy from now.

BJP formed the Government in Maharashtra within hours after NCP Chief Sharad Pawar declared that neither his party nor Congress is against Uddhav Thackeray becoming Chief Minister. He even exuded confidence that Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress will form the Coalition Government. Much to his shock, Ajit Pawar extended support to BJP along with his 22 MLAs.

After his swearing-in ceremony, CM Devendra Fadnavis opined Maharashtra doesn't need Khichidi Government, taking indirect dig at Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress. He thanked Ajit Pawar for helping him establish a stable government in Maharashtra. 'People of Maharashtra offered majority to BJP. After the elections, Shiv Sena broke its promise and attempted to form the Government with other parties. Maharashtra needs stable government, not khichidi government,' he told.

Although there were reports that over 20 NCP MLAs are supporting BJP, Sharad Pawar maintained Ajit Pawar and another 10 to 11 MLAs are only backing the Saffron Party for now.
