Microsoft To Allow Its Employees To Work From Home Permanently

Update: 2020-10-10 06:05 GMT
Tech giant Microsoft has allowed its employees to work from home permanently even after the stay at home measures are lifted. According to reports, the company will let employees work from home permanently, if they choose to.

Microsoft becomes the latest employer to expand work-from-home provisions prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

It has now allowed less than 50 percent of employees to work from home.  Employees who opt for the permanent remote work option will have to leave their assigned office.

However, employees involved in hardware research and development, for instance, or employees involved with in-person training, won't be able to do that work remotely.

"The Covid-19 pandemic has challenged all of us to think, live and work in new ways," Microsoft's Chief People Officer Kathleen Hogan said.

"We will offer as much flexibility as possible to support individual workstyles while balancing business needs and ensuring we live our culture," he added.
