Middle East Nation Gets Inspiration from Uttar Pradesh?

Update: 2022-06-03 10:17 GMT
We have seen how the Uttar Pradesh government has renamed many places and railway stations. The places that were named after Muslims were renamed after Hindu leaders and personalities. Despite the opposition parties and activists slamming the government, the BJP government did not take a back step and went ahead with the renaming.

Now the Uttar Pradesh government's model is seeing an uncanny resemblance with a nation that went for the change in its name. The Middle East nation Turkey took a leaf out of Uttar Pradesh and decided to change its name to Turkiye. The idea was proposed by the country's President and the people supported the idea raised by the President.

With Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan raising the new demand and the people in the nation supported it by mentioning the country's new name Turkiye wherever it is possible. The nation sent a request to the United Nations. Looking at the support, the international body immediately approved the proposal reportedly.

It is said that the word Turkey has no good meaning and to change that, the Turkish President took the decision of going for rebrand the nation with a new name. The President was well supported by the people. For the past few months, they have been mentioning the new name.

One more thing to mention here is that Turkey will go for the Presidential polls next year. With the people supporting the current President in the renaming row, it is expected that the President might get good support from the voters in the forthcoming polls.
