Minister serves, consumes liquor in unlicensed hotel

Count on Telangana minister Malla Reddy to rake up some controversy or the other on a daily basis. One day, he dances on the stage to the tune of Amitabh Bachchan's songs, the other day, he gets booed in a Reddy community meeting, the next day, he threatens his own party man with dire consequences if he does not follow him.

The latest is that the minister organized a massive liquor party in Munugode constituency, where all the TRS leaders were served liquor and the minister too consumed a peg or two. The issue here is that the hotel where the liquor party was organized does not have a license to sell or serve or consume liquor.

The video of the minister serving and consuming liquor after a day-long election campaign in Munugode bypoll is now doing rounds in the social media. The minister has been given the responsibility of campaigning in Aregudem village of Choutuppal mandal. He is now staying in a hotel on the outskirts of Choutuppal to personally monitor campaigns in the village.

Several people have questioned how the minister could organize a liquor party in a hotel which has no licence for serving or possessing liquor. They argue that if the minister himself flouts the rules, how can he enforce the laws on the general public. Now this incident has become the talk of the whole mandal.
