Modi visits Station where Gandhi was thrown out

Update: 2016-07-10 04:19 GMT
Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought back the memories of Mahatma Gandhi's Train Journey in South Africa on Saturday.

During his ongoing South Africa tour, Modi got into the train at Pentrich and reached Pietermaritzburg for paying tribute to Gandhi who fought against racial discrimination.

A While Man objected to the presence of Gandhi in the first-class carriage during the train journey from Pretoria to Durban on 7th June, 1893. Inspite of having obtained the ticket, Gandhi was thrown out of the train at Pietermaritzburg railway station. That's when he decided to fight against racial discrimination.

Yesterday, Modi paid a visit to the station where Gandhi was thrown out of the train. The official Twitter handle of PMO tweeted that the train in which Modi travelled resembled to that of Gandhiji's.
