Senior Tollywood Film Producer Natti Kumar is known for making straightforward statements no matter what teh issue is. When the Andhra Pradesh government came up with the Go regulating the movie ticket prices, he welcomed this and said that the government did a good thing.
During the Tollywood drugs case when the Enforcement Directorate grilled a few celebrities as part of the investigation, Natti Kumar alleged that once the actors start getting good remuneration they end up doing all this and batted for a detailed investigation.
Going by his no-nonsense nature, Natti Kumar had earlier alleged that sensational director Ram Gopal Varma aka RGV owes him money in crores. Leveling the same allegations, he demanded that RGV pay back the money. Reacting to the allegations, RGV said that he owes money to no one.
As Ram Gopal Varma is awaiting the release of his much-awaited Maa Istam or Khatra film, Natti Kumar approached the court and got a stay order against the release. Giving another big shock to RGV, Natti Kumar gave another big blow to the filmmaker.
Natti Kumar brought second stay order against the film. In the orders issued, the Court said that until further notice, the film should be not released either in OTT or the theatres. This should be seen as a big blow to RGV and the producer. A civil court in Hyderabad gave the order to stay the film's release.
Now RGV has toe options. Either he had to settle the alleged disputes with Natti Kumar and get a NOC for the release or wage a legal battle against Natti Kumar. As Ram Gopal Varma has been stating that he did not take money from Natti Kumar and he will not pay the money, we can expect RGV to approach the higher court. One thing is clear now. Until the court orders, the film cannot be released. Now the ball is in Varma's court. We have to wait and see here what happens next.
Directed by RGV, Dangerous stars Apsara Rani and Naina Ganguly are in the lead roles. The film is touted to be a lesbian crime thriller that is the first of its kind in India.
