In a shocking development, India reported as many as 64,553 fresh cases in the last 24 hours. With this, the total infections in the country mounted to 24,61,191. This is the second-highest spike of single day cases.
On the other hand, 48,040 people succumbed to the dreaded virus so far, with a record 1007 patients breathing their last breath battling the disease in the last 24 hours.
Despite the rapid growth of fresh cases daily, the recoveries of the virus are also increasing in the country which is a good sign. So far, 17,51,556 patients were cured of the virus, while there are 6,61,595 active cases in India.
According to the information provided by the Union Health Ministry, the recovery rate of the virus in the country passed surged 70 percent and the fatality rate stood at 1.95 percent.
Andhra Pradesh currently has a total of 2,64,142 pandemic tests with 9,996 fresh reported on Thursday. So far, 2,378 people lost their lives to the contagious disease.
On the other hand, Telangana reported 1931 fresh cases the other day which takes the total infections in the state to 86,475. 665 fatalities were reported in the state as of now.
Globally, as many as 21,068,695 were infected with respiratory disease. 757,444 patients lost their lives due to the virus so far. United States, Brazil, and India are the worst-affected nations in the world.
