Update: 2023-04-07 11:16 GMT
The Bharatiya Janata Party is trying its best to spread its wings in Andhra Pradesh. But the party is yet to open its account in the state. The last time, the BJP saw success in the state was in the 2014 polls. TDP-BJP-Janasena allied and tasted a big success. The alliance won the elections and came to power.

Since 2019, BJP is giving its best. The state president was also changed. Earlier, Kanna Lakshminarayana used to be the AP BJP chief. Later the Delhi leadership brought Somu Veerraju into his position. But there is no big change. The lack of popular leaders is also one of the reasons behind this.

AP BJP is set to get a new force. The former Chief Minister is all set to join the saffron party as per the reports. Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy, who served as the last Chief Minister of the combined Andhra Pradesh is believed to join the BJP hold.

The media reports say that Nallari Kumar Reddy is likely to wear the saffron shawl today. Earlier last month, he resigned from the Congress party. He is not active in politics. It is said that a few BJP leaders went into touch with him and requested him to join the party.

Having been satisfied with the offer, he is said to have given his green signal. Now he might wear the saffron shawl today. His joining would surely boost the party which badly wants to show its impact on the state politics.

Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy hails from a political family and his family has been a strong Congress family. His father Amarnath Reddy was part of P. V. Narasimha Rao's cabinet. He served as the Assembly Speaker in 2009. Due to the political crisis, Kiran Kumar Reddy was made the Chief Minister. He was a strong supporter of combined AP.

After state bifurcation, he floated the Jai Samaikyandhra Party. But the party lost the elections and he joined the Congress party again. However, he is not active in politics. Now he might take the Bharatiya Janata Party's route in Andhra Pradesh. Let us wait and see.
