No Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vysya and Kamma in Jagan's new cabinet

Update: 2022-04-11 05:05 GMT
Through his  new cabinet, AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has ensured a caste and social group equilibrium. He has ensured that major social groups get adequate representation.  He has done considerable home work to keep the social balance in his ministry.

There are five Dalits in his cabinet. Taneti Vanitha, Pinipe Viswaroop, Narayana Swamy and Adimulapu Suresh, who were in his earlier cabinet, have been retained. In place of Mekathoti Sucharita, Meguru Nagarjuna has been brought in. Thus, the number of Dalits has been kept constant.

In an attempt to wean away the BCs from the TDP, he has given ten posts to the BCs. The BC ministers are: Seediri Appala Raju, Dharmana Prasada Rao, Chelluboyina Venugopal, Vidadala Rajini, Budi Mutyala Naidu, Gummanuri Jayaram, Usha Sri Charan, Karumuri Nageswara Rao, Jogi Ramesh and Botsa Satyanarayana.  There is just one minority minister in Amjad Basha. There are four Kapus – Kottu Satyanarayana, Ambati Rambabu, Dadisetti Raja and Gudivada Amarnath.

There are four Reddys. They are RK Roja, Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Kakani Govardhan Reddy and Buggana Rajendranath Reddy. Interestingly, four communities – the Brahmana, Kshatriya, Vaisya and Kamma have no representation in the new cabinet. The Brahmins did not have any representation earlier too. Cherukuwada Sriranganatha Raju from the Kshatriya community, Vellampalli Srinivas from Vysya community and Kodali Nani from the Kamma community have been dropped and have not been replaced.
