Over the past few days, the news of Karnataka saying that it will not supply milk to neighboring state Andhra Pradesh until the old dews are cleared is being spread rapidly. As the news was getting spread, the state-run Karnataka Milk Federation stepped in to clear the airs on the news.

The Karnataka Milk Federation made it clear that it would not stop the milk supply to Andhra Pradesh despite the Non-clearance of the dues as the milk is being supplied for a good cause of feeding the children who are below the age of six.

Reacting to the news, the Karnataka Milk Federation acknowledged the fact that the dues worth Rs 130 crore are yet to be cleared by Andhra Pradesh and also said that it would not affect the milk supply to feed the children, reports say.

Speaking to a leading daily, Mrutyunjaya Kulkarni, Marketing Director of Karnataka Milk Federation said there is no question of stopping the milk supply and called the reports that said about the stalling of the milk supply as false. Please don't believe such news, he urged.

Clarifying the doubts on the letter that was widely circulated, the Marketing Director said the letter is a routine letter that is sent requesting the Andhra Pradesh government to pay the dues at the earliest.

Giving more details on the "Sampoorna Poshana scheme" under which the Karnataka Milk Federation is supplying milk that goes to school children and pregnant women, the Director said the Federation and AP Govt are working together to sort out the issue and the milk supply will not be stopped.

Talking about the "Sampoorna Poshana scheme", the Andhra Pradesh government and the Karnataka Milk Federation entered a deal to provide nutritious food to children and pregnant women. The deal was made back in 2020. Ever since the deal was made, the Federation has been supplying milk that was stored in ultra-high temperatures so that it won't get spoiled.

Over the months, the milk supply is going on and the amount that was supposed to be paid by the Andhra Pradesh government had reached around Rs 130 crores reportedly.
