A special court in Mumbai issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against former IPL chairman Lalit Modi on Wednesday. Court issued notice  for Modi's alleged involvement in a money-laundering case registered by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Few days before ED filed case on Lalit and it has moved the Special court seeking issue of arrest warrant for investigating the case against the former IPL chairman.Despite repeated attempts, Modi's lawyers not responded in the issue. When the matter came up before the court on Tuesday, Special Judge P.R. Bhavake issued non bailable warrant.

PR Bhavake said it is a fit case to issue warrant as Modi has not co-operated with the agency despite being summoned three times for the investigation. The court's orders come in the wake of a controversy surrounding Modi's visa to flew London.

Earlier there were rumours that External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje recommended  Modi's  immigration application. But both the leaders have denied them and it created huge uproar.
