One more big investment landed in TG

Investments are pouring towards Telangana state.The chief minister is searching the alternative ways to get rid of electricity problem.The National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC) has agreed to set up a 4,000 Megawatt power plant at Ramagundam in Telangana adjacent to its existing units.

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao Tuesday met with NTPC chairman and managing director Arup Roy Choudhury and he assured  that he would take up with the central government coal linkage for the project. KCR assured that environmental clearances will be obtained by Telangana government for establishing the unit.

The Chairman NTPC said that the work at the unit will commence immediately and first unit will be completed within 39 months. Due to lack of coal supply, several power production units of both NTPC and private companies have suffered, leading to a power shortage of around 1,000 mw in the state.

NTPC Ramagundam is a 2600 MW Power station situated at Ramagundam in Karimnagar district in Telangana, India. It is the current largest power station in South India. The currently operational power plant of NTPC at Ramagundam has coal linkage with South Godavari coal fields of Singareni Collaries and Korba coal fields of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL).
