PM Modi expresses his dissatisfaction over vaccine wastage in AP, TS, and UP!
Amid rise in fresh Coronavirus infections in India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a crucial meeting with the Chief Ministers on Wednesday. The main agenda behind the virtual meeting is to direct the states to take the required measures to tackle the pandemic situation.
News Agency ANI reported that during the meeting, Narendra Modi expressed his dissatisfaction with Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh over vaccination drive in the respective states.
PM Modi said more than 10 percent of vaccines are being wasted in the three states and said a review has to be done to found out the reason behind the wastage and urged the states to focus on monitoring.
"Over 10% vaccine wastage in Telangana & Andhra Pradesh. Vaccine wastage in UP is almost the same. It should be reviewed in states that why's vaccine wastage happening? Monitoring must be done every evening & pro-active people should be contacted so that there's no wastage: PM," ANI's tweet read.
The Prime Minister urged the Chief Ministers of AP, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh to focus on reviewing the vaccine wastages and directed the states to make use of the available resources.
Expressing his concerns over the rapid increase in the fresh Coronavirus infections, Narendra Modi said, it's the need of the hour to contain the virus or else the virus could lead to a nationwide outbreak.
The Prime Minister said the Center and state governments should come together to combat the virus spread or else the situation will slip out of our control.
