Prime Minister Narendra Modi emerged victorious in TIME's reader's poll 'Person of the Year 2016'. Indian voters and those in US States such as California and New Jersey favoured him.
The Indian PM secured 18 percent of total votes polled. This is second time in the past three years, NaMo won the reader's poll of TIME's Magazine. He was also the winner of TIME's 'Person of the Year 2014'.
US President Barack Obama, President-elect Donald Trump and Wikileaks Founder Julian Assange jointly shared the second spot with 7 percent of vote share. Democratic Party Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton managed to get 4 percent of votes. Whereas, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg received 2 percent of votes.
Last year, German Chancellor Angela Merkel bagged TIME's 'Person of the Year' honour.
