In what could be seen as a sign of times, a budding woman politico displayed utter political opportunism all in a matter of a few weeks. She has changed three parties in just a matter of a month.
Sravanthi Krishna Reddy of Ghatkesar Muncipality had contested from the Ward No 3 as a Congress candidate. She campaigned hard but lost. On February 8, she left the Congress to join the BJP and filed nomination papers for the Primary Agricultural Credit Society elections on the same day as the BJP candidate. She was the only candidate in the fray after the withdrawal of nominations and was thus unanimously elected. On Monday, she was declared elected and she was ahead of the victory procession organised by the BJP workers. She even addressed a press conference after the rally.
In the night, she suddenly materialised at the residence of Minister Chamakura Malla Reddy and donned the pink scarf in his presence. She told the baffled and bewildered mediapersons that she would strive to work for the TRS till her last breath. So much for political loyalty!!
