Pranathy Gangaraju who belongs to Georgia won the prestigious title of Miss India USA 2014.It is the oldest running Indian pageant outside of India.
Pranathy was 19 and she was pursuing a course in film acting and production.Her hobbies include dancing, singing, writing and swimming
The New York-based IFC organized the event and last yeat winner Monica Gill handed over the crown to Pranathy.Total 21 Indian origin girls participated in the show and 24 year ols Monica Shah of Florida and Angela Nand, 27, of Hawaii were declared as first and second runner up respectively.Riya Kaur from New Jersey was crowned Miss Teen India USA
The contestants should belongs to Indian origin and between the ages of 17 and 27 and never married. The pageant consists of four segments Evening Gown, Indian Dress, Talent and Question-Answer.
Along with her crown and title, the winner won US$8,000 in prize money, gifts from sponsors and an opportunity to travel the world representing the pageant in various exotic locations.
