Quota of US H-2B visa hiked 400 percent

Update: 2015-12-18 17:00 GMT
Its known that  US Congress has imposed a special fee of up to USD 4,500 on the H1B and L1 visas popular among Indian IT companies and the news turned shocker o many IT firms and visa aspirants. US lawmakers who have been tightening the rules of H1B visa seems to be showing soft approach on H2 B visas.

America has decided to increase the quota for H-2B visas by 400 percent. H2 B visas are meant for unskilled foreign workers. The H-2B visa was designed to bring in low-skilled, temporary and seasonal workers. As per the reports H-2B visas will soar from present 66,000 to 250,000. The recent move would significantly increase the number of guest worker visas available to unskilled foreign nationals.

Foreign workers are brought in exclusively on H2 B visas  to fill blue collar non-farm jobs in hotels, restaurants, construction, truck driving and many other occupations. However, the increase in the number of such visas will have little impact on Indians.
