Seems like, Union Government is playing with fire by not respecting the sentiments of Seemandhra People. At first, It backtracked on the promise of Special Category Status. And now, Highly placed sources inform Centre is keen to set up Railway Zone in Vijayawada instead of Visakhapatnam.
Uttar Andhra and Rayalseema are the backward districts of Andhra Pradesh. There were complaints about too much importance given to AP Capital region. If Railway Zone too goes to Amaravati, People will reach the conclusion that the blunder which happened in the case of Vijayawada will be repeating.
Uttar Andhra People have been expressing severe dissatisfaction since the Media Reports confirmed the migration of Railway Zone to Vijayawada. Even Projects were staged and Opposition Parties threatened to launch a movement if injustice is being done to the people of backward districts. Railway Zone Sadhana Samiti leaders accused AP CM Chandrababu & PM Narendra Modi of ditching the Uttar Andhra People.
MP Subbirami Reddy described Railway Zone as the dream of Uttar Andhra people. He asked AP CM to mount pressure on Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu to grant Railway Zone for Visakha.
