Has the BJP sent clear signals that Raja Singh will no longer be the party candidate from Goshamahal in the 2019 elections? Is it the reason why Raja Singh gave such an emotional speech during the recent Ramnavami celebrations? What explains the sudden movement by Vikram Goud, son for former minister Mukesh Goud, in the Goshamahal constituency?
In the recent Ramnavami celebrations, Raja Singh made an emotional speech where he talked of getting disgusted with politics. He said for him Hindutva was more important than politics. He added that he would live and die for Dharma. These statements are being seen as proof of Raja Singh's frustration in the BJP. He continues to remain under suspension and the party has not yet revoked it.
Sources say that Raja Singh was told point blank by the BJP leadership that he would be taken back into the party only if he agreed to contest for the Zaheerabad MP seat in 2019. If he becomes an MP, his focus will shift to national politics and the state politics would be free of Raja Singh's antics. If he is defeated, that would be the end of his political career.
Of late, young leader Vikram Goud has begun touring Goshamahal extensively. He has been meeting Mukesh Goud's friends, relatives and supporters. He is also trying to strengthen the BJP organization in the constituency. Goud joined the BJP some time ago and played a key role in Sanjay's yatra and the bypoll campaigns. Sources say that the party has sounded him out that he would be given the Goshamahal seat in the 2018 elections.
