Ramayana - A Cooked-up Story: Ramanananda Maharshi

Update: 2017-12-03 12:53 GMT
Ramanananda Maharshi stirred a controversy by commenting that Epic Ramayana is a cooked-up story. He questioned, 'How could a Monkey (Anjaneya) speak? If that is true, why can't the Monkeys we see Today lack such ability?'.

Once, Lord Rama spoke highly about the language speaking abilities of Hanuman while talking to Laxman. Then, why don't the Monkeys communicate in such an efficient manner at present? This is the point raised by Ramanananda Maharshi.

In the viral video, Ramanananda Maharshi said: 'They say Anjaneya Swamy is a Monkey. Are Monkeys we see Today able to speak? If Anjaneya Swamy is a monkey, how was he able to speak? Will Monkeys learn Vedas? They will just tear the papers or transcripts. The instance of stone transforming into Ahalya after getting in contact with Rama's feet is untrue. When we had no clue what happened 2,000 years ago, How can anyone predict the events which took place lakhs of years ago? There is no truth in the Ramayana written by Valmiki. Three versions of Ramayana are in circulation but none of them were able to get the facts rights. I lost faith on Ramayana after reading them. Why because, Only 30 percent of them are facts and the rest are just assumptions'.
