Jayalalithaa was born on February 24th in the year 1948 at Melukote of Mandya district in Karnataka. After her Father's death when she was just 2-Year-Old, Jaya's mother began working as actress in Tamil Cinema. Jayalalithaa was a student of Bishop Cotton Girls School when her family used to live in Bangalore.
