Few weeks ago, Redmi Note 4 burst into flames while removing the SIM at a a service center in Bangalore. And now, Something similar to that happened in Kakinada on Sunday.
Bhavana Surya Kiran (25), a pawn shop owner in Ravulapalem, bought Redmi Note 4 from Flipkart three weeks ago. While he was on a two-wheeler, Mr.Kiran felt burning sensation on his thigh and suddenly noticed flames coming out of his trouser pocket. Unable to take the phone out of the pocket using his bare hands, He removed the trouser and put off the flame. The smartphone got burnt completely and the flames continued even after it was thrown out.
Apart from informing Redmi, Surya Kiran decided to take the matter to the notice of Consumer Forum as he ended up losing the new mobile and suffered burn injury as well. The statement of the victim was recorded by the Police.
