RTC JAC to Temporarily Compromise on Merging with Government

In a major turn of events, the RTC JAC has temporarily withdrawn its demand for merging the corporation into the government. It is their main demand, which there were very firm. The strike observed by the RTC workers has reached 42nd day today.

The Telangana government has stated that it is not ready to hold talks with the JAC as merging the RTC is their main problem. So the JAC and the opposition parties who extended their support to the strike have decided to withdraw the merging demand temporarily.

'So, we decided that we will not insist on merger if it helped to begin the talks. There are other demands too which have to be discussed,' said Telangana Jana Samiti president M. Kodandaram.

BJP leaders A.P. Jitender Reddy and B. Mohan Reddy, Congress former MP V. Hanumantha Rao, Telugu Desam- Telangana president L. Ramana and another party leader Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy, and leaders from CPI, CPI (M) and CPI (ML-New Democracy) were present during the meeting.

Kodandaram also said that they have also decided to build more coordination between the unions and opposition parties to focus more on the struggle faced by the RTC workers.

As a next step, reportedly the JAC has diced to do a campaign in the villages to create more awareness on saving the RTC.
