An unfortunate incident was happened at Saudi Arabia's holy city of Mecca. At least 107 people were killed and 238 injured after a crane collapsed on to the Grand Mosque of Mecca.
As per reports a mobile crawler crane collapsed onto the Mecca Masjid. The huge crane crashed into a part of the Grand Mosque which was filled with worshippers.
The Grand Mosque is the largest mosque in the world and surrounds Islam's holiest place. The city was preparing for the annual Hajj in which Muslims from around the world go to the mosque to worship
As per the eye witness the crane smashed into the third floor of the Grand Mosque about 5:45 p.m. The mosque was packed with people in advance of the 6:30 p.m. prayer.Saudi Arabia has begun an investigation into why a crane collapsed in the holy Mosque. As per reports strong winds and heavy rains caused the crane to fall. Up to three million pilgrims visit Mecca during the hajj.
Some of the videos that posted online shows panic and shouting of the piligrims. Bodies and blood could be seen on the floor of the mosque.The ministry of external affairs announced that two Indians were among the 107 killed in the accident. The statement also added that 15 Indians have been injured.
