It appears YS Jagan is quite unnerved by the revolt by four party MLAs during the recent MLC elections. The way the TDP snatched away victory from the jaws of the YSRCP appears to have stunned Jagan. Meetings and reviews held later have only revealed that there is a widespread resentment over his style of functioning and inaccessibility within the party MLAs.
Realising this, Jagan, it appears, is changing his working style. The latest example of this change was during his recent visit to Markapuram in Prakasam district. During this tour, former minister and his close relative Balineni Srinivas Reddy was not allowed to reach to the helipad to welcome YS Jagan. A stung Balineni decided to abandon Jagan's programme and return to Ongole.
On knowing this, a perplexed YS Jagan personally called up Balineni and invited him to the programme. As a result, Balineni had to return and attend Jagan's programme. Jagan was not only effusive in his praise of Balineni, but he also made the former minister press the button to mark the inauguration of the welfare schemes in the district.
Not just that. The government even served two memos to CI Srinivasa Rao, who stopped Balineni from going to the helipad. All these steps are seen as corrective measures by YS Jagan. He clearly does not want to alienate more party MLAs through his behaviour. Clearly, Jagan seems to have learnt his lesson the hard way.
