Senior Congressman and veteran of many a political battle PC Chacko has left the Congress Party thoroughly rattled. The reason? He is from the same state which Congress Party's president-in-waiting Rahul Gandhi belongs.Quite interestingly, he has not even bothered to talk to Rahul Gandhi before taking the decision to leave the party.
That the Congress did not have an inkling of PC Chacko's disenchantment with the party speaks volumes about the situation in the state. Also, Chacko did not even bother to discuss the issues with Rahul Gandhi, who is mainly campaigning in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. He did not also write to Rahul Gandhi to inform about his decision to quit the party. This is being seen as a clear move by Chacko that Rahul Gandhi does not matter much in the Congress scheme of things.
Chacko has also accused the Congress in Kerala of being divided into two factions â Congress I and the Congress A. the Congress A, according to him is led by former CM Oomen Chandy, while the other group is led by Ramesh Chennitala. He said that the candidates are being decided by these two groups and other seniors were not even taken into consideration. His comments are now creating quite a sensation in poll-bound Kerala.
