Ahead of key elections in Tirupati, the Pawan Kalyan-led Jana Sena received a major jolt when a very important leader left the party. Jana Sena's important leader and former MLC Madasu Gangadharam has resigned from the party.
Gangadharam, a two-time MLC, was among those Congress leaders who left the party after the bifurcation of the state. Jana Sena did give him lot of importance. He played a very critical role in choosing the party candidates during the 2019 elections. He was part of the five-member screening committee. But, soon after the election and the party's complete rout, Madasu became very inactive. On Sunday evening, he sent in his resignation to Pawan Kalyan. He said there was no respect for the seniors in the party. He said several decisions taken by the Jana Sena chief were clearly pro-TDP. He also said that the party was going astray.
Gangadharam's resignation has created quite a few ripples in Jana Sena. Of late, several seniors have left the party and if sources are to be believed, some more are in line to resign. Those still in the party are also feeling out of touch with the party functioning.
