Situation For Another Lockdown Is Coming: Maharashtra Legislator!

As predicted by the experts, India saw a big jump in fresh Coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours after the country celebrated New Year. With people gathering together on the occasion, the new infections witnessed a massive jump in the recent past.

The situation brought a tense-like situation in Maharashtra which is already going through a tough situation with the Covid impact. In the span of the last 24 hours, more than eight thousand people came in contact with respiratory disease.

The big hike in new infections was detected as part of the daily Covid dedication tests. After 8,067 people in Maharashtra were declared positive for Coronavirus, a Cabinet Minister made key comments on the restrictions and possibility of the state undergoing one more lockdown.

Maharashtra Other backward class welfare, disaster management Minister Vijay Namdevrao Wadettiwar said that a situation where another lockdown might be imposed in the state is approaching and said a lockdown might come in place if the cases continue to go up.

However, the Cabinet Minister who holds multiple portfolios said that the final decision on whether or not to go for a lockdown lies with the Chief Minister, and once Uddhav Thackeray takes any call the decision would be announced.

"The stage of lockdown is approaching. But the chief minister will take a decision on when to impose it," the Minister told the reporters while addressing the media on the sharp rise in Covid infections in the state.

Amid the big rise in the new Covid infections, the Cabinet Minister also said that the government would also take a key decision on adding a few restrictions on travel and the educational institutions as per the prevailing situations.

It has to be noted that, a few restrictions like capping the number of attendees for functions like Marriage and other social events have been in effect in the state. As per the restrictions, the attendees should not be more than 50.

Besides this, the public is not allowed to enter the places that see good footfall as a precautionary measure. The New Year celebrations also saw a few restrictions in Maharashtra.
