Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of delaying the winter session of Parliament as he he lacked the courage to face the House after failing to achieve desired results with Demonetisation & GST. 'BJP can't escape constitutional accountability ahead of Gujarat Assembly Polls by delaying Parliament Sessions. Government isn't holding the Winter Session in order to avoid the questions on Corruption and Conflict of interest of Union Ministers,' she alleged.
In reply, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley reminded Sonia that even Congress Party delayed Parliament Session in the past. He told rescheduling Parliament Sessions to avoid overlap with elections isn't happening for the first time. 'While UPA stood as most corrupt government in its decade long rule, NDA gave the most honest government under Modi's leadership,' declared Jaitley.
Finally, Centre has given an indication that schedule of the Winter Session of Parliament will be announced soon.
Normally, Winter Session of Parliament happens from 3rd Week of November to 3rd week of December. Centre delayed the Winter Session due to Gujarat Polls in December second week.
