As a shot in the arm for the Amaravati farmers in Andhra Pradesh, who have been protesting against the three capitals for more than two years, the protest received support from none other than real hero Sonu Sood. The actor extended his support to the protests.

Sonu Sood reached the Gannavaram Airport the other day to reach the temple city Vijayawada. After knowing that Sonu Sood is coming to the airport, the Amaravati farmers and women went there to meet the real hero. Informing him about their plight and protests, they sought his help in this regard.

Addressing the Amaravati farmers and women at the Gannavaram Airport, Sonu Sood said he is in favour of the protest and he is with them in their fight. His comments made them happy and left the Airport with a happy face. Sonu Sood had left for Vijayawada after meeting the Amaravati leaders. Later, he paid a visit to the Durgamma temple and offered his prayers.

The Amaravati farmers have been opposing the idea proposed by the Andhra Pradesh government led by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. With the government going ahead with the proposal, the farmers have been protesting in the Amaravati region.

The YSR Congress Party government led by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to shift administrative capital to Visakhapatnam and judicial capital to Kurnool while retaining Amaravati as only the legislative capital.

The idea proposed by the ruling YSRCP government says, the shore city Visakhapatnam will be made the administrative capital while Kurnool and Amaravati will be the judicial capital and the legislative capital respectively. However, the Amaravati farmers who gave their lands for the capital proposed by the previous Telugu Desam Party(TDP) Government are saying that they want Amaravati to be the sole capital of the state.

On the flip side, the YSRCP leaders are saying that Visakhapatnam will serve as the administrative capital of Andhra Pradesh and there is no second thought on that. As the issue is pending with the Court, the government might shift the capital once the issue gets clearance from the respective Court. Earlier, the Union Government said, capital is a state issue and it will not interfere in it.
