Telangana Government has come up with an innovative idea as part of its new Tourism Policy. It took up the mission to promote all the major irrigation projects in the state as tourist destinations.
As of now, TRS Government is constructing Pranahitha, Yellampally, Sriram Sagar, Kaleswaram, Kalwakurthi and Mallannasagar Irrigation Projects. Facilities such as Boating, Water Sports, Cottages, Paragliding and Landscapes would be provided at these reservoirs. Officials will be giving utmost importance to the safety of the people before approving these special attractions.
Tourism Officials are contemplating on setting up Food Courts, Recreation Clubs and Swimming Pools as well near the reservoirs. These arrangements will be done in a Public-Private Partnershio (PPP) model.
Statistics have shown a 20% increase in the domestic tourists across the Telangana state in the past one year. This growth encouraged T-Government to take further steps for promotion of Tourism.
