While sending T-bill to State Assembly President Pranab gave 6 weeks time to discuss the statehood issue and the deadline was announced as January 23.
But seems there will be a small amendment in the deadline and 10 more days could be given to Assembly to discuss the Telangana Bill as it is yet to debate the state bifurcation issue due to continuous disruption. The house was adjourned for several days due to series of protests and there have been unofficial suggestions from some political leaders that seeking an extended time for a meaningful debate
Earlier also Madhya Pradesh Assembly was given extended time by the then President to discuss and approve the Bill for creation of Chhattisgarh.
Its known that The Union Cabinet had on December 5 given the go-ahead for the creation of a 10-district Telangana and outlined the blueprint for carving out the countrys 29th state. The UPA government is keen in getting through the Telangana Bill in the coming session of Parliament.
But ,If the time limit is extended beyond January 23, the Centre will have a very narrow window to get the Telangana Bill passed in the Parliament which will commence in the first fortnight of February to pass the Vote on Account.
