The TRS and the MIM, it appears, have adopted an altogether different strategy to attack the BJP in the GHMC. The BjP, which won 48 divisions in the recent GHMC elections, has made an impressive and eye-catching photo-op during the GHMC council's first meeting by donning saffron robes and matching pagdis.
The BJP has given enough indications that it would give a tough time to the TRS. So, to counter-attack the BJP, both the TRS and the MIM have decided to find loopholes in the nomination papers of the winning BJP candidates and lodge complaints against them. This way, the TRS and the MIM can get some of the BJP corporators disqualified. Already, losing MIM candidate in Jambagh division has lodged a complaint against BJP corporator Rakesh Jaiswal claiming that he has three children and has given a fake affidavit about it. Those with three children cannot contest the elections in the local body polls. Similarly, complaints of hiding the number of children have been lodged against Hastinapuram corporator Sujata Nayak and Gunfoundry BJP corporator Surekha Omprakash. A complaint is also being lodged against BJP corporator from Mangalhat, Sasikala. Her rival has claimed that she had hidden the fact that she had three children and hence she should be disqualified.
Now the BjP corporators are checking and re-checking their affidavits to see if there are any loopholes that the TRS and the MIM can exploit. If it is proved that these four corporators indeed have three children, then they may have to lose their seats.
