Through his silence, Ganta sends warning to Chandrababu

Maverick politician and Bheemili TDP MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao has sent his first warning signal to the party. He has underplayed absended himself from the recent Mahanadu of the TDP and Rajahmundry. He was one of the MLAs who did not make much noise about the Mahanadu. Ganta has always been maintaining a 'blow hot – blow cold' relationship with the party and its chief Chandrababu Naidu.

After getting elected as an MLA in 2019, Ganta has largely remained inactive and there were even rumours that he would latch on to the YSRCP bandwagon. Later, Ganta showed deep interest in the Kapu politics and conducted several key meetings. Then there were rumours that he would join hands with Kapu leaders and form a separate front. However, nothing of that sort happened.

Sources say that Ganta was apprehensive that Lokesh would contest from Bheemili and he would be asked to make way for him. Hence, he remained aloof from the party. Another major source of worry was his tussle with senior leader and former minister Ayyanna Patrudu. Chandrababu clearly preferred old loyalist Ganta and rooted for the other two TDP MLAs Ganababu and Ramakrishna.

Sources also say that Ayyanna, the two Vizag MLAs and Telugu Mahila chief Vangalapudi Anitha are working overtime to keep Ganta at bay. All these have reportedly miffed Ganta Srinivasa Rao and he is said to have sent the first warning signals to Chandrababu Naidu. It remains to be seen how things shape up in future in Vizag city TDP.
