If we list the most beautiful locations in the country, the Kashmir valley will have a place in that. The valley has many locations and places that will make it perfect for shooting purposes. If not for the terrorist scare, the valley would have been one of the most visited places in the nation.
Back in the 1990s, the terrorists showed hell to Hindus in the valley making attacks with Pandits as targets. The situation has reached a point where Hindus in the valley left the place leaving their properties and assets there. When Article 370 was lifted many felt that the situation would change.
But the sad reality is that the attacks and killings of Kashmiri Pandits are not stopping. Yet again the terrorists target Pandits. In the fresh attack, two Pandits were attacked. While one person passed away, the other sustained injuries and was rushed to the hospital facility.
As per the version of the Kashmir Police, terrorists opened fire on civilians in an apple orchard. The injured person was taken to the hospital facility due to his injuries. Security has been beefed up at the location as a safety measure.
"Terrorists fired upon civilians in an apple orchard in Chotipora area of #Shopian. One person died and one injured. Both belong to minority community. Injured person has been shifted to hospital. Area cordoned off. Further details shall follow," Kashmir Police Department said on Twitter.
The recent incident shows that Pandits are in a vulnerable situation in the Kashmir valley. No matter who is in power, the status quo will not be changed. The big question is when Kashmir Valley will be safe for Pandits? Sadly no one has an answer for this.
