Will KCR Opt To Privatize RTC?

Update: 2019-11-02 10:44 GMT
The strike observed by the Telangana RTC workers has reached the 29th day, which is the longest in history. With government and RTC workers not ready to compromise on their decision, it looks like the issue can be solved so easily.

It has been reported that Telangana CM KCR has decided to privatize the RTC. In the cabinet meeting, the government has opted for the decision of the privatization of the RTC.

Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay earlier sad that RTC is facing losses in almost 70 percent of the routes. Interestingly, out of those routes, villages and Hyderabad routes hold a major portion.

It has been widely reported that the government has decided not to run the RTC which is in huge debts so it might lend RTC to private operators.

With these speculations, RTC workers are panicking about the outcome of the Cabinet meeting. If the cabinet decides in favor of RTC is ok or else there is a chance of RTC workers losing their livelihood.

The private operators cannot handle the RTC buses completely by themselves. It's a huge body. They have to get drivers and the biggest question arises is who will certify the fitness of the buses and will the private operators run RTC as effectively as the government does?

We may have to wait some more time to know whether RTC will be in the hands of the government or not.
