Will Night Curfew come in AP?:Health Dept Clarifies!

Over the past few days, the media reports are abuzz that seeing the steady rise in the single-day cases triggered by the novel Coronavirus, the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy led Andhra Pradesh government had swung into action and took a key decision to see that the virus is not spread further.

The information mentioned by the media reports has to say that the night curfew will be imposed in the state as a precautionary measure to curb the new Coronavirus infections.

The way the media reports were spread had rung danger bells in the minds of the people. Amid this, the Andhra Pradesh Health, Medical & Family Welfare Department had stepped in to clear the airs on the reports.

The Health Department had rubbished these reports spreading fake reports and said, the government took no such decision. Having cleared the air, the department urged everyone to believe such news and appealed to the public to not fall prey to the fake news.

The concerned officials said if there is any such thing on going for a night curfew or additional restrictions, then the government will inform them and an official press release will be issued from the government end.

The department also said that there is no truth in the news that the theatres and other establishments across the state will run the business with 50 percent occupancy.

The timely entry of the Andhra Pradesh Health Department to rubbish the fake news and provide clarity that no night curfew or restrictions will be imposed in the state to deal with the prevailing situation.

On the other hand, Andhra Pradesh reported 840 fresh Coronavirus infections in the past 24 hours. While 37,849 samples were tested across the state in the same period, not less than 840 people were found positive for respiratory disease.

The information shared by the Arogya Andhra says that the total number of Covid cases in the state as of January 7th stands at 20,76,868, while 20,59,395 patients out of them have been discharged from the facilities. The virus has claimed 14,501 lives so far and there are 2,972 active cases of the pandemic in Andhra Pradesh.
