While most state governments are focusing on corona tests, quarantine measures and implementing lockdown measures, AP chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has gone a step ahead and is trying to address the mental and psychological issues that could affect the people, who are subjected to such long confinements.
Never before was the country subjected to such lockdown anytime in the past. This is leading to social and psychological duress. Anxiety, depression and expression of anger are becoming common and as the days pass by, these tendencies are getting stronger. Realising this, YS Jagan on Friday asked the medical authorities to keep enough stocks of medicines to treat those suffering from psychological trauma arising out of continuous staying at home. During a cabinet meeting, he concurred with IT minister Mekapati Goutham Reddy, who raised the issue and said that even financial concerns could affect the psychology of the individuals in long terms of incarceration.
The nationwide lockdown, aimed at checking the spread of Corona virus, has been imposed on March 23 and will continue till mid-April.
