Former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu was arrested and was sent to a remand under a dramatic turn of events. With the chief getting arrested, the party is in a big shock. Despite his arrest, there is no aggressive reaction or protests from the party and many wonder why.

For the past few decades, Chandrababu Naidu has been leading the party, and the question of who will be the next leader did not arise. But the question has started now with the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu. A leader came out to lead the party.

Actor-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna who won two consecutive elections from Hindupur constituency and is aiming to win a third win came out and said that he will lead the party from the front. He made these comments in his recent press meeting.

Balakrishna reacted to the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu and slammed the government. He alleged that Chandrababu Naidu was arrested with a conspiracy and he would come out of this. He added that there is no need to worry about anything as the party has seen such tough times in the past.

But what caught everyone’s attention was Balakrishna’s comments that there was no need to worry as he is coming and would lead the party from the front. He even invoked the dialogues of his father. Balakrishna said it's the time to show the valour of the Telugu people.

Telugu Desam Party was founded to safeguard the self-respect of the Telugu community. In the political events ahead of the 1983 election, the late NTR highlighted the self-respect aspect. Now his son is also doing the same.

Though his father was a Chief Minister, Balakrishna did not take an active role in politics till 2014 when he contested the Hindupur polls. Now, Balakrishna’s comments created a sensation and a debate has also started on whether Balakrishna is dropping indirect hints at leading the party.
