BJP national leadership clipping Bandi Sanjay’s wings?
The BJP national leadership has clearly rejected Bandi’s proposals to give ticket to Vikas Rao for Vemulawada.
Is the BJP national leadership bent on showing former state president Bandi Sanjay his place in the party? Is that why the party has rejected many of his demands for party tickets to his close camp followers? The party also appears determined to minimize his importance in the party’s day-to-day affairs in the state.
The BJP national leadership has clearly rejected Bandi’s proposals to give ticket to Vikas Rao for Vemulawada. Rao is the son of former Maharashtra governor Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao. Bandi wanted to deny ticket to senior party leader, Eatala acolyte and former ZP chief Tula Uma. However, the leadership obliged Eatala and rejected Bandi’s proposals.
The party has also rejected several other proposals that Bandi Sanjay has given. For instance, Bandi was not willing to contest for the MLA seat from Karimnagar. He felt that this was an attempt to limit him to the assembly. However, the national leadership insisted that he should contest the election from Karimnagar.
Similarly, as national general secretary, Sanjay wanted to campaign for the party and tour the whole state. However, the party rejected this prosposal too. His name was included in the list of star campaigners for Chhattisgarh. However, by making him contest for the assembly, the national leadership has tied him down to just one constituency.
