Now AP Congress Leaders Have Issue With Sharmila?
In a big move to revive the party in the state, YS Sharmila was welcomed into the AP wing
Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the grand old Congress Party bounced back. In a much-needed boost, Congress won elections in two Southern states-Karnataka and Telangana. As the party is basking high on the two big wins in the states, it shifted its focus to other states.
In a big move to revive the party in the state, YS Sharmila was welcomed into the AP wing. Her party was merged into the party and she formally joined the party. Though there is no official confirmation, it is being reported that Sharmila might get a plum post like the state chief.
Former MP G. V. Harsha Kumar reacted to the reports and said that the decision is not good. He opined that Sharmila should not be made the state chief of the party.
Giving a reason for this, the senior Congress leader said that Sharmila didn't work in Telangana and there was no point in bringing her here. He also raised the point of Self-respect of Andhra Pradesh on the occasion.
G. V. Harsha Kumar mentioned the comments made by Sharmila that she was born in Hyderabad and is focused on bringing the Rajanna Rajyam to the people. He also urged the Congress party to be cautious with YS Jagan and Sharmila.
The interesting thing is that earlier the Telangana Congress leaders raised objections to the possible entry of Sharmila into the party saying that she is from Andhra Pradesh and she has no role in Telangana.
Now it is the turn of Andhra Pradesh leaders to raise objections. While former MP G. V. Harsha Kumar is the first leader to raise objections, it would not be a wonder to see others do the same. The ball is in the Congress court now. Will Sharmila be made the state chief? Or will she get any other post? These questions need an answer.
