Five MPs From the Akhilesh Yadav Family Took the Oath Today!

Yadavs are one of the dominant communities in the state politically.

The Samajwadi Party has a big legacy in Uttar Pradesh, the largest state in terms of population in the country. The party almost dominated the political landscape for a few decades. Mulayam Singh Yadav floated the party. Yadavs are one of the dominant communities in the state politically. He served as the CM three times.

His son Akhilesh Yadav is leading the party. In the recent 2024 Lok Sabha polls, the party had hit it out of the park. Compared to 2017, its performance increased by a few folds. Out of 80 seats, the party won 37 seats expanding its footprints.

As many as five members of the Akhilesh Yadav won the elections and they took oath in the Parliament. Akhilesh Yadav, Dimple Yadav, Dharmendra Yadav, Akshay Yadav, and Aditya Yadav won the elections.

Akhilesh Yadav: The Samajwadi Party chief won the Kannauj seat. He won the seat with a big margin of 6,42,292 votes. Winning the seat was seen as a prestige issue for the party. The seat has been a strong bastion for a long time. However, the BJP won the seat in the 2019 wave and Akhilesh’s wife Dimple Yadav lost. Now Akhilesh retained the seat.

Dimple Yadav: Akhilesh Yadav’s wife bounced back from the defeat strongly. She contested the Mainpuri seat which is another strong bastion of the party. In the recent elections, she won the seat with over 2 lakh margin. In the intense battle, she emerged victorious.

Dharmendra Yadav: The SP leader won the Azamgarh seat from Uttar Pradesh. He attracted 48.2 percent votes in the elections and won the seat. He took the oath in the Parliament along with other family members.

Akshay Yadav: The SP leader in the elections won the Firozabad seat with around one lakh votes. In the elections, he attracted 5,43,037 votes compared to BJP’s Vishwadeep Singh with 4,53,725 votes.

Aditya Yadav: Another family member on the list. The young leader won the elation with a margin of over 30k. Aditya is the son of Akhilesh Yadav's uncle Shivpal Yadav. Aditya contested from the Badaun Lok Sabha seat in the elections.
