How Voting Turnout Changed In AP With Each Passing Hour?

The voting turnout was not that encouraging in the early hours of voting with just 9.21 percent by 9 AM.

The highly intense election in Andhra Pradesh started earlier today. As the stakes are high in the elections this time, the elections are getting all the attention. Given the intensity around the elections, it is common for people to predict a high vote percentage. But the start was different.

The voting turnout was not that encouraging in the early hours of voting with just 9.21 percent by 9 AM. But things started to change with time passing. With each passing hour, the vote percentage has been increasing and the numbers are encouraging.

By 5 PM, the voting percentage was 67.99 percent. However, the closing percentage of the elections in the previous elections was as much as 79.84 percent. Coming to the current elections, the percentage was less than 68 percent. While the closing numbers might pick up, as of 5 PM it was just 67.99 percent.

By 9 AM, the state saw just 9.21 which increased to 23.04 percent by 11. By 1 PM, the numbers increased further and reached 40.26. It was 55.49 percent by 3 PM and 67.99 percent by 5 PM.

If we track the voting turnout in elections as per the data shared by Eenadu, the Chittoor region is on the top with 74.06 percent followed by Konaseema with 73.55 percent, Krishna and YSR districts.

The districts with the highest vote percentage have been changing with every hour. By 3 PM it was the YSR district at the top. Cut to 5 PM things have changed and Chittoor took over. It is a good thing that the voting turnout was over 65 percent across the districts on average.

Shore City Vizag which has seven Assembly segments recorded fewer vote percentage compared to other regions. While the other districts recorded a vote percentage of above 60 on average it stood at just 57.42 percent.
