COVID-19 has created a lot of disarray in people's lives across the globe. The side effects of this outbreak can still be seen in many. The latest danger looming in India which is worrying the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is Monkeypox. Called Mpox, the World Health Organisation has declared that it spread across 13 countries in Africa.

It is the biggest outbreak that the continent ever faced and they suspect that it has made its way to India as well. On Sunday, the first suspected case of Monkeypox virus has reportedly been detected. Apparently, the male patient has arrived in India recently from a country where Monkeypox was getting transmitted in full force.

They stated, “The patient has been isolated in a designated hospital and is currently stable.” The samples have been collected according to the Health Ministry and they were sent to confirm the presence of the Mpox virus. The government says that it is ready to face the outbreak if the suspicions become true.

Health Ministry said, “The country is fully prepared to deal with such isolated travel-related cases and has robust measures to manage and mitigate any potential risks.” Monkeypox was detected in India back in 2022. A death and 30 reported cases were registered at that time. Let us hope that this is not the case this time around.
